FRONT PORCH LIVING.

When you call Grant Crossing “home” you will not only love its modern farmhouse-style homes, you will be delighted by each curated detail. From the breathtaking views of the land’s rolling hills to the reclaimed lumber used in each property’s accent walls – time stands still. Its previous owner, Jake Jacobs, lived a life many of us only dream about. Rugged, wild, and free - he was a man dedicated to these acres and his memory lives on through his original vineyards, antique signs, and whimsical local stories. You will be drawn into this peaceful lifestyle full of character.

HISTORY OF THE PROPERTY

Dating back to 1821 when the land was granted to William D. Bradford from the United States of America, this 54-acre property is steeped in historical significance. Shortly before the Civil War in the 1800’s, the parcel was cultivated by Dyer T. Praytor before it transferred to his family after he was lost during battle. Then, in 1956, it was settled for 63 years by Jake Jacobs and his family. As a retired train operator and avid train enthusiast, Jake Jacobs created the “Front Porch Station.” Community members will still find pieces from this landmark strategically built into Grant Crossing architecture. Upon Mr. Jacobs’ passing in 2019, he was remembered as a proud steward of the land as an Angus cattle farmer. The Jacobs family recounts wonderful memories of picnics and train watching on the farm. His passionate spirit remains a centerpiece throughout the land today.
